“At the end of the day, it’s all about how the screener is designed and what our client’s end goal is.”

Here’s an excerpt…

Q: When we do a blind study, when we don’t want participants to know who’s sponsoring the study, do you see changes in the screener or the process in terms of selecting people?

Liz: If the client knows that these are their customers or have a general understanding of who the participants are then sometimes basic questions would not need to be included in the screener. However, we always recommend re-asking the question just to validate that everything is being reported correctly. We recommend to not make the screener too long, but definitely include those questions because you don’t want any surprises when someone shows up and you think Pat is a girl but Pat is actually Patrick.
