The Swing Voter Project

A partnership with Engagious and Axios to understand Swing Voter sentiments towards current events.

About The Research

Sago, Engagious, and Axios are continuing their partnership for a third year to conduct a series of twelve online focus groups with swing voters in key battleground states across the United States, exploring sentiments around the mid-term elections, current events, and the Biden administration’s policy efforts.

Voters selected to participate in the groups will include those who voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election and then voted for Joe Biden in 2020 from states that had the closest races (percentage-wise): Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada, Florida, Texas, New Hampshire.

The Swing Voter Project was launched in March 2019 to explore swing voters’ opinions as they prepared to vote in the Democratic Party primary election and the 2020 presidential election. In a series of 18 focus groups across key battleground states, participants explored questions and topics surrounding the President, his Democratic challengers, and the key issues leading up to the 2020 election more broadly.
