This initiative gives swing voters \u2014 those who voted for Trump in 2016 and then for Biden in 2020 \u2014 the opportunity to participate in monthly online focus groups.<\/p>\n<p>Each respondent group comprises swing voters from the 10 most competitive states in the 2020 U.S. elections. In July 2022, the spotlight was on Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<h2>Understanding the Wisconsin Swing Voter Group<\/h2>\n<p>For this latest round, we interviewed 14 Trump-to-Biden swing voters across the great state of Wisconsin. Here, we share a recap of their views on Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, inflation, Roe vs Wade, and the Wisconsin primary races.<\/p>\n<h4>Do respondents believe that either Trump or Biden are fit for office?<\/h4>\n<p>Zero out of 14 respondents believe Joe Biden should run again in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Only two out of 14 respondents want Trump to run again in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reasons against Joe Biden running again include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Too old<\/li>\n<li>Acts confused<\/li>\n<li>Too much talk, not enough action<\/li>\n<li>A puppet where \u201che says what people want him to say\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reasons against Donald Trump running again include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Narcissism and his attitude<\/li>\n<li>His tweets and lack of control over emotions<\/li>\n<li>Embarrassed the country as president<\/li>\n<li>Not psychologically fit for office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Age was the biggest factor against both Trump and Biden. Respondents believed both men would be too old to hold office in 2024.<\/p>\n<h4>What\u2019s the take on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis?<\/h4>\n<p>When shown an unlabeled, official photograph of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, only five out of 14 respondents could identify him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall, sentiment toward Ron DeSantis was negative due to his:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extreme policies<\/li>\n<li>Anti-democratic ideas<\/li>\n<li>Being like \u201cTrump without the zaniness\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Radical nature<\/li>\n<li>Conspiring with Trump over \u201cfake votes and illegal election\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Poor handling of Disney-RCID special jurisdiction event<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Not all the sentiment was negative, however. Respondents described DeSantis as someone who gets things done.<\/p>\n<p>What are the top three priorities for swing voters in Wisconsin?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Swing voters in Wisconsin shared their top three priorities on laws, policy, and political actions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eight of 14 respondents believe new laws are needed to curtail gun violence.<\/li>\n<li>Eleven of 14 respondents shared that high gas prices are affecting their travel plans.<\/li>\n<li>Getting inflation under control is another top priority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One respondent shared how they cut back on travel due to high gas prices: \u201cMy mom needs help two hours away from me and I used to go weekly, sometimes bi-weekly. And now it&#8217;s every two weeks\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How many swing voters are aware of the U.S. Senate Wisconsin primary races?<\/p>\n<p>Overall, very few respondents have the Wisconsin primary races on their radar.<\/p>\n<p>Only three of 14 swing voters could identify Mandela Barnes and Alex Lasry\u2014 two politicians from Wisconsin who are\/were running for U.S. Senate \u2014 in an unlabeled photo. (Lasry has since dropped out of the race.)<\/p>\n<p>Even Ron Johnson, a familiar face in the U.S. Senate for more than a decade, was only recognized by eight out of 14 respondents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall, sentiment toward Ron Johnson was negative due to his:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alleged involvement in $280,000 in cash gift corruption<\/li>\n<li>Bias on the topic of Homeland Security and Defense<\/li>\n<li>Delusional nature<\/li>\n<li>Propensity to lie<\/li>\n<li>Propensity to cheat<\/li>\n<li>Outdated political style<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Is the January 6 Committee having an impact on swing voters?<\/h4>\n<p>Overall, respondents have not been swayed by the January 6 Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Ten of 14 respondents believe Donald Trump should be criminally prosecuted for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.<\/p>\n<p>Only five of 14 respondents watched Cassidy Hutchinson \u2014 former White House aide and assistant to Mark Meadows, Chief of Staff for the Trump presidency \u2014 testify about the Jan. 6 insurrection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Below are two opinions shared by respondents on the topic:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI think it is important that the credibility of the U.S. justice system is upheld.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c[Jan. 6] was too extreme and something needs to be done about it.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>What did respondents think about the overturning of Roe vs Wade?<\/h4>\n<p>All 14 respondents are aware of Roe vs Wade.<\/p>\n<p>Four of 14 respondents were happy with the outcome, while eight were very upset about it.<\/p>\n<p>Only 50 percent of respondents were confident they could define the abortion laws in Wisconsin following the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if the decision would sway their future vote, one respondent had the following to share: \u201cYes, it\u2019s a big issue [\u2026] but is that going to sway me to vote that way? No. You can\u2019t vote based on one thing that happened\u2026\u201d<br \/>\nWe also covered Marco Rubio\u2019s proposed legislation to deny businesses the ability to deduct expenses for tax purposes and reimburse costs when employees travel for an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Nine of 14 respondents support companies that cover the cost of employee travel to states where abortion is legal.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents were asked if Rubio\u2019s legislation sounded petty \u2014 every respondent replied yes.[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"porto-btn-ctn-left \"><a class=\"porto-btn
