Our Country Needs A Leader

This country needs a leader. One who will tell the truth with no agenda other than to lead, using founding principles, the Bill of Rights and trust in God. Dr. Ben Carson has it all and is waiting for the Call. I hope he gets it. Americans will listen, then follow his lead. Congress will bring up the rear, kicking and screaming. This is the time to be reminded that we, as individuals and families are the most important, not the Federal Government.

That was President Reagan’s well accepted message and the same one I heard Dr. Carson deliver at the annual Prayer Breakfast the other day with ease and confidence. In his thoughts there comes discussion about a better way to improve healthcare. If people, for example, paid more of their own money for medical care they would be judicious about how much they were willing pay for services. Competition would come into play and costs would go down. Things are expected to get worse under Obamacare and costs will go up as long as the person getting the care has no skin in the game and no opportunity to select their doctor.

Dr. Carson as a doctor knows more about this and the underlying economics than you think, He is a free thinker and believes in smaller Government, unlike the one note rantings of Obama and his Big Government orchestra. Our common enemy with Reagan was Communism (a forgotten foe of not so long ago). It’s now the more insidious Government programs multiplying as each new constituency is romanced into trading votes for largesse. We should return to electing representitives that meet our needs to remain independent, have our property rights protected and rely on Contitutional checks and balances.

The people need a President that puts the oath to uphold the Constitution ahead of personal greed or lust for power. We need one that has the confidence to trust the people to understand right from wrong and remind us of where we came from and why America is the exceptional nation, the world’s beacon of freedom and economic capitalism.

I think Dr. Ben Carson is one of many that fits that mold and may be the right one at the right time. I know for certain that Obama is wrong. After watching Obama’s State of the Union speech, I’m sure many more would agree. Incredibly, just weeks after being slapped down by a Federal court for unconstitutional actions, (Obama’s  illegal, non-recess, recess appointments) he continues to violate his sworn oath to “protect, defend and obey” the Constitution.

Obama with his usual, patented arrogance says to a co-equal branch of government that if they don’t do what he wants He’ll act alone, despite what the Constitution says. He wants to be the sole voice, and when he doesn’t get his way, he signs an executive order or demagouges the other person. Laws mean nothing to him. He truly believes in his narcissistic mind that he doesn’t have to obey the Constitution. He is the reason our founders created a document limiting the power of the Federal government.

America has made a mistake but can recover. All we need is the right leader. We have all the other ingredients for that now. How much longer can we hold out? I don’t know.
